At Poehlmann Construction Company, your experience as a client is likely to be substantially different than you may have had with other home construction and remodeling companies.

Above all, we carefully manage our time and resources, and we make sure that we can give every client and every project the attention each deserves. We only take on a select number of custom home construction projects every year, all of them fully custom. We’ll spend six months to two years on any given project, and an average of eight to nine months. We’re similarly selective in the number of remodeling and basement finish projects we work on.

Harry’s commercial construction experience and his meticulous nature, passed down through his German heritage, puts planning at the forefront of every project we do. That means a lot of up-front time with the architect and the owner to design and budget exactly what will be involved. It also eliminates surprises, particularly when it comes to costs.

If you need help with designing your project, we have strong partnerships with architects and interior designers that we’re happy to recommend. If you have an architect and an interior designer, we’re happy to collaborate with them.

The process may seem to move a bit slowly at times, but our decades of experience have shown us and hundreds of clients that our approach is solid and reliable, and it delivers consistent results that leave us and our customers pleased with the outcome.

You’ll receive a bid document that outlines everything in careful detail when it comes to cost breakdown. No add-ons, no surprises, no cost overruns, no ongoing negotiations as the project progresses. We account for everything up front, and include a carefully planned project schedule.

We create a job management manual for each project becomes the playbook or Bible for our team. It includes details on each and every room, from floor to ceiling, foundation to finish, including plans, pictures, and more.

Once the project is underway, we’ll have weekly meetings that outline action items and who is responsible. Our project sites are non-smoking from pouring the foundation to completing the final details. We keep a safe, neat and clean, organized site, and sweeping up and cleaning up is a daily part of our routine on the job.

Harry himself will be personally involved in your project with his hands-on approach. He will be on-site and involved with your custom home project 20 to 30 hours a week, not just doing drive-by check-ins.
When everything is complete, we’ll hand you the keys to your new home, along with a two-year warranty – where most new homes come with just a one-year warranty.
